About Haven Family Resource Center

Welcome to Haven Family Resource Center, a community-driven organization dedicated to promoting the well-being of families and their beloved pets. We believe that every member of the family, including our furry companions, deserves to be protected and cared for. That's why we have launched our new initiative called SALEF (Saving Animals from Lethal Environmental Factors).

The Importance of Protecting K9s from Extreme Heat

As temperatures rise during summer months, it is crucial to understand the risks that excessive heat poses to our four-legged friends. Dogs, especially those with thick fur or short snouts, are highly vulnerable to heatstroke and other heat-related illnesses. Heatstroke can be fatal if not detected and treated in a timely manner. It is our responsibility as a community and society to ensure the safety and well-being of these loyal companions.

Introducing SALEF: Our Mission

SALEF aims to raise awareness about the dangers of heatstroke in dogs and empower pet owners with the knowledge and resources needed to protect their K9 companions. We work closely with local authorities, veterinarians, and animal welfare organizations to implement effective strategies for preventing heat-related incidents.

How You Can Make a Difference

1. Educate Yourself and Others: Stay informed about the signs and symptoms of heatstroke in dogs. Share this information with fellow pet owners, friends, and family members to ensure they are equipped with the necessary knowledge.

2. Create a Safe Environment: Provide plenty of shade and access to fresh water for your dog, especially during hot summer days. Avoid exercising them during peak heat hours. Consider using cooling mats or vests to help regulate their body temperature.

3. Never Leave Your Dog in a Hot Car: Even with the windows cracked, the temperature inside a car can rise to dangerous levels within minutes. Never leave your dog unattended in a vehicle, as this can lead to life-threatening situations.
