Welcome to the Cienega High School Student Union, a part of Haven Family Resource Center's community and society services. Our mission is to provide a supportive and inclusive space for students and families, offering a wide range of programs, resources, and events to enhance their overall well-being and promote community engagement.

Programs and Services

At the Cienega High School Student Union, we believe in empowering our students and families by offering comprehensive programs and services. Our team of dedicated professionals works tirelessly to ensure that our community members have access to the resources and support they need to thrive. Some of our key programs include:

1. After-School Enrichment

Our after-school enrichment program aims to provide students with opportunities for growth and development outside of their regular school hours. Through a variety of engaging activities, such as art workshops, STEM projects, sports clubs, and music lessons, we aim to nurture their talents and foster a love for learning.

2. Academic Support

Education is a cornerstone of success, and we are committed to helping our students reach their full academic potential. Our academic support services offer tutoring, counseling, and mentoring to assist students with their coursework, test preparation, and college applications.

3. Career Guidance

We understand that preparing for the future can be daunting for students. That's why we offer career guidance programs that help students explore different career paths, develop essential skills, and make informed decisions about their future. Networking events, guest speaker sessions, and internships are just a few of the resources available to our students.

4. Family Outreach

Building strong family bonds is crucial for a thriving community. Through our family outreach initiatives, we provide workshops, support groups, and counseling services to foster healthy relationships and enhance parenting skills. We aim to create a network where families can connect, share experiences, and receive support.

Community Events

To further promote community engagement and social interaction, the Cienega High School Student Union organizes a variety of exciting events throughout the year. These events serve as platforms for celebrating achievements, fostering unity, and creating lasting memories. Some of our popular community events include:

1. Annual Cultural Fair

Our annual cultural fair celebrates the vibrant diversity within our community. Students and families come together to showcase their cultures, traditions, and artistic talents through interactive booths, performances, and delicious cuisine. It's an event that truly highlights the richness of our community.

2. Volunteer Drives

Contributing to the betterment of society is a core value we instill in our students. We organize regular volunteer drives, encouraging students and families to actively participate in community service opportunities. From environmental clean-ups to volunteering at local shelters, these drives foster a sense of social responsibility and empathy.

3. College Night

Preparing for higher education can be overwhelming, which is why we organize College Night—a platform that brings together representatives from various colleges and universities. Students and their families can gather information, ask questions, and gain valuable insights into the college application process, scholarships, and financial aid options.

4. Health and Wellness Workshops

We believe in the holistic well-being of our community members, so we host health and wellness workshops on topics such as stress management, nutrition, and mindfulness. These workshops provide practical tools and knowledge to help students and families lead healthy, balanced lives.
